(Isaiah 1:2-38, John 10:10-18, 1 John 1:4-9, Psalms 143:10)

We need to remember that sins are from satan and remember he has come to steal, kill, and destroy. Sins are pleasurable and easy. At the same time, sins are evil against yourself, others, and God. The pleasurable nature of sin makes it a potent tool for deceiving us into the trap of satan. Frankly speaking, our sins will not stop God from being God but our sins will harm us and/or other people. Why satan’s trap? He wants humans to sin because he wants to harm, kill, and destroy us. He can only do that when we choose to stay away from God. So, the devil tricks people into sins, so that they will be away from God. When he is able to keep people away from God because of their sins, he then attacks as wolf mercilessly attacks strayed sheep. Another potent gimmick of the devil is to keep people in their sins by deceiving them into unrepentance. He makes sinners think that they are too sinful to return to God. He can also make sinners think that they are not too evil to be in need of or ask for forgiveness. These are how human beings fall and remain in satan’s grasp.

While satan plays his gimmicks on us, God warns us and keeps us away from evil but when we are fascinated by sin, we choose sin and drift away from where God puts us. We think God’s way is hard or not pleasurable. We think God’s way denies us of our many choices. Some questions that escape us are “what is the benefit of the pleasure of sin if its end is bitterness and regret?”, “If I am still going to lose more than I thought I gained from sin then why let sin overcome me”, “what is good in a sweet poison?”. Even if no one can save himself, the choice to be saved or not to be saved lies with each one. No matter how defeated we are by sin, if we can choose to call on Jesus to save us, He will save us. Will you call us Jesus today to save you from satan’s grasp? Do you want to be free from the power of sins?
(John 1:9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Call on Jesus today to help you. Knee before Him and confess your sins to Him. He is faithful to save you because He promised that He will save us.
