(Judges 1:16-36, Judges 2:1-23)
Most times, we Christians receive victories, we think all battles or struggles are completely over. We even feel somehow disappointed when another one springs up. Contrary to that, victory may be a time of rest before the beginning of another battle. Victory can be said to be a promotion into greater fulfillment, which may come with more responsibilities and oppositions.
Many a time, we tend to enjoy victories earlier than it is meant to be. Sometimes, after a long battle, it becomes almost spontaneous to perceive any rest as a good rest. This may be part of the reasons for Israelites’ quick consideration of rest instead of finishing up the conquest of Canaan land as commanded by God.
Rest is good but becomes dangerous when conquest is not complete.
Prayer Points
1) Father, remove from me all tendencies of quick rest while conquest is not complete, in Jesus name.
2) Father, give me the grace to be steadfast for complete conquest, in Jesus name.
3) Lord, help me to completely conquer every sin that has remained unconquered in my life, in Jesus name.
4) Holy Spirit, open my spiritual eyes to see, ears to hear, and heart to know where and how I am lacking in your plan and purpose, in Jesus name.
5) Father, save me, I plead for Your mercy on however way I have failed you, remember Your death and the price You paid for me.
