The nature of sin!
Without the help from Calvary, we are powerless before flesh. Was it created with man? No, Adam “inherited” it from Satan!The Bible says human were created in the image of God. (Gen 1:27 KJV) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(John 8:44 KJV) Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (Romans 6:16 KJV) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

When divine caution is thrown into the wind, you see beautiful personality turned to an envious soul. You see an impactful preacher turned to a lust enslaved person. A disciplined person battling with addiction. Then, anger consumes a reputable leader and he tears down an empire built with years of sweat, tears, and pains. A friendly and loveable person becoming a gossip, slanderer, and rebel.
The nature of sin in man!
It begins with a little disobedience. The initial stage of disobedience is usually very simple and subtle. Not until the consequence springs up do one see how destructive the small disobedience is. When it arose in Cain he killed his brother, Abel. I think he might not have thought that he would one day kill his brother. That is the nature of sin. Remember, God told Cain, (Genesis 4:7), “sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”
(1 John 3:8b KJV) …for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. The nature of sin is like a seed from Satan sown into humanity through Adam. This is re-ignited and activated at will when he gets the access into our hearts. The word of God says we should not be ignorant of the devices of the devil.
Until we go to Jesus and kneel at His feet at Calvary, the devil may continue to torment us through the nature of sin in us. Are you seeing yourself entangled in this? Come to Calvary, a place of genuine repentance. Look unto Jesus, the Author and the Finisher of our faith. Receive the power over sin and rebuke the devil.
It was in David before he saw Bathsheba. When he cried to the Lord for a Clean heart, he was delivered. (Psalms 51:10), “create in me a clean heart…”. It was in Peter through out his journey with Christ until he saw himself through the mirror of Jesus’ words and repented.
Most times it surfaces with a well-planned provoking chains of events. You struggle between God’s Instructions and your flesh. Alas! The situation aggravated that the works of sin erupt from within you as an activated volcano, which had been quiet for the time past. Then, you do and say the unthinkable. After the power of the storms goes away the consequences become a burden to be carried alone. However, do not act like Cain who did not heed to God’s warning but would rather say, “my punishment is greater than I can bear”. Why not come to Calvary to destroy the nature of sin embedded in you before you see your Bathsheba, before you get to Kadesh Barnea, before you are appointed into the committee of the noble spies of “Canaan land”…(Numbers 13:31)
Come to Calvary, call on Jesus and let the nature of sin die. Please pour your heart out to Him as we take this hymn together.

Prayer Points
1) Lord, I confess my iniquities and repent from my way of unrighteousness, in Jesus name.
2) Create in me a new heart Lord and renew a right Spirit within me, in Jesus name.
3) Lord, let the fire of Your love and will burn in me, in Jesus name.
4) Lord, terminate every battle the kingdom of darkness is waging against me because of the salvation of my soul, in Jesus name.
5) Blood of Jesus cancel and blot out every condemnation against me, my home, and life, in Jesus name.
6) Lord release more grace into me for greater exploit in Jesus name.
7) I repossess my place. I conquer and rule my unexplored land of fulfilment in Jesus name.
8) My innerself hear the voice of total freedom from every captivity and oppression, in Jesus name.
9) Thank you Jesus, be praised for ever. Reign in my life, home, and church.
