(Jonah 1, Jonah 2, Jonah 3, 1 Samuel 15:19-23, Matthew 25:24-30)
God’s directive is very clear to you!
His instruction is clear to you!
As it was to Jonah. “…Go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.” (Jonah 1:2)
If it is not clear to you, there is always grace to ask the Lord for further clarification. But no, you know the way to the fulfillment of your assignment. You only chose not to go as Jonah decided not to even stay in Israel and boarded a ship going to Tarshish. Check if you are not in a ship to Tarshish while you should be in a ship to Nineveh.
Your Nineveh is the divine assignment for you. Tarshish may be the activities you do for the Lord, in order to pacify Him instead of going to Nineveh. Please, know that God is not touched by our activities for Him but by our faithfulness in obeying His instruction.
1 Samuel 15:20-23 KJV
20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.
22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
So, please, do not think God will be delighted with activities and gifts. No, not when He has given a clear instruction.
Please, your assignment still awaits you. As Nineveh was not destroyed waiting for Jonah to minister to them, your assignment is waiting for you. You still have a chance to turn away from the road to Tarshish. Go to your Nineveh for the fulfillment of your divine assignment.
Go and do what God instructed you to do! Remember, it may be 2 years or 10 years since He told you, He has not forgotten it.
More grace in Jesus name!
