Rev 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

The Lord’s “quickly” transcends our human knowledge. One thousand years before the Lord is like a day and a day like a thousand year. Mysterious! But one thing is clear to all, we must get prepared. The exact time is not our concern and should not be our concern only the certainty of His coming is our concern. Surely he will come maybe in the morning or in the night. But have in you, faith that is strong enough to wait unwaveringly even if His coming is delayed. All nations must be witnessed to. God’s timing for the end of all things must be achieved. He even accomodates the chance for the most wretched sinner to repent. However, if the day is not made short, even the elect will be deceived. Knowledge will be many, deception will be the norm, love of many will wax cold, lust will prevail over many, there will be lukewarmness in the body of Christ etc

There will be physical persecution, psychological persecution, systematic persecution that only divinely induced perseverance will sustain those who resolve to keep standing for Jesus. To those who resolve to bear the burden now, so that they will escape the second death (eternal perdition in the lake of fire – the devil himself, hell and death will also be there for their eternal perdition). To refuse to persevere now is same as longing for the untold punishment in the lake of fire. Getting burnt for an instance is terrible not to talk about an everlasting scenario. Worst still the body will not be consumed but continuously punished with gnashing of teeth. Then no provision for divine mercy, grace, favour, chance for repentance in the lake of fire. Having endured man for ages, it will be God’s final verdict!

What we need to do now is not trying to read the date (Acts 1:6-7). What the Lord instructed us to do is to get prepared. We must “readily” be ready because He will come purposely to catch all unawares. Yes, His coming is designed to meet us all unexpectedly.

2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which theheavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Remember the story of the ten virgin: five were wise because they prepared for a situation if the groom delays than expected and the five unwise wants thought compulsorily the groom will return before the oil burns up. Be prepared, be ready for His anytime sudden appearance but have enough faith that can keep you standing firm if His coming tarries.

Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus
