(Exodus 33:13-23, Jeremiah 33:1-3, Psalms 40:6-8)

In Exodus 33:13-23 there came up in Moses a fresh desire to know God’s way. This was as if he never knew it before. In fact, it was that Moses posed it as if he wanted to begin to know God’s way so that he will remain in His favour, grace and love. It is one thing for grace, mercy and favour of God to have found us and another for us to now recognize or understand them for what they are. They are precious and indispensable! One thing is certain, as we desire to know Him, the more we know that there is still need to seek to know Him more. As the fold of Jesus, I pray that this desire becomes real in us, in Jesus name.
Even in Jeremiah 33:1-3, the Lord demonstrates to us how readily He is willing to show us His way but only if we seek it. As much as He wants us to know He would not force it into us but will eagerly wait for us to request. Here comes the significance of our responsibility in choosing to either be saved or not.
However, if we will come into terms with our Lord on seeking to know His way, our heart must be prepared to know Him like the psalmist in Psalms 40:6-8.
Verse 6: Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
There must be in us, this consciousness of being ready. In addition, to be ready is not enough; we must be delightfully ready. Just as the psalmist showed us his thought in word, “lo” means behold. This added to the eagerness portrayed with the tone of the Psalm. This in turn portrays how delighted, how expectant and how eager we must seek to know the Lord’s own way, without holding back anything.
