(2Chronicles 20:4,15-29, Proverbs 16:7, 1Kings 20:12-30, Joshua 6:15, 16,20)
Victory belongs to God. He gives victory to whoever that pleases Him. We should not take our battles away from Him. In fact, make all battles His. Our God is the God of battles. He also declares peace when He pleases (Proverbs 16:7). When He says to oppressors to cease, they cease without hesitation (Zechariah 9:8). If He says that the enemies will hear rumours and flee ( 2 Kings 19:7 ), then that is it. If He says they will flee when they hear sound or noise, so be it, they would flee when no one chases them (2 Kings 7:6,7)! If He decides to engage them with natural cause (1 Samuel 7:10), so be it. At times he says, “I will go before you and you shall come after my move, indeed that settles it (2 Samuel 5:23,24). Most times He gives a battle strategy that frustrates, marvels or confuses our enemies.
Oh Lord of host, how mighty and dreadful are you!
Do not doubt His strategy, even when you do not understand it. Many a time, when He gives us a strategy, it seems mathematically and logically unreasonable but that is the solution for that moment, just employ it. The enemies can even be mocking His strategy but it is to their own destruction, just key into it. His strategies might not sound so spectacular or amazing, please go with it, the result will be more than spectacular and amazing.
Great are You God, unseachable and mysterious are Your ways!
We should not proceed with any battle before calling on Him. There are rewards for those who call upon Him early and there are rewards for those who delay before calling upon Him. Truly, rewards for seeking Him early is different from those who seek Him late (Proverbs 8:17). I pray that where grace is needed, by mercy, we receive it abundantly in Jesus name.
There is always a need to know what He instructs, either to move forward or to stand still (definitely with God, no going back, except from sins). Hence, there is always a need for willful seeking, diligent listening, faithful obedience and uncompromised worship. We receive all these and more by the enduement, empowerment and leading of the Holy Spirit.
Please, seek Him with all your heart (1 Chronicles 28:9).
Do not go faster than Him. When He says, “be still”, please be. (Isaiah 52:12).
Do not delay when He says move (2 Samuel 5:23,24).
He is Jehovah Sabaoth (the Lord of hosts). Be focused, unflinching and unwavering in the victory He promises!
Oh God, You are high and lifted up and You have no equals!
