(Psalms 111:10, Proverbs 1:20-33, Daniel 2:13-23, James 1:5)

The beginning of wisdom is to fear God (Proverbs 9:10, Psalms 111:10). To receive wisdom is to fear God just as it is wise to obey a manufacturer about the use his product. This fear of the Lord is not to hide or run away from Him. Instead, the fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth… (Proverbs 8:13)

Power is great, authourity is wonderful but wisdom supercedes them all. In fact, all of these without wisdom are shameful misfortunes and calamities.

For us to be successful in anything we say or do, we need wisdom. For us to be successful in our divine mandates we need wisdom. For us to succeed in life, we must receive wisdom. Anybody can live; either wise or unwise but what they will become will never be the same. You need wisdom for what to do, say, where to be and how to live. We need wisdom to run the affairs of home (in relating well with your family and friends), business and careers (Exodus 28:3, Exodus 35:26 Exodus 35:31). In other to excel in all these areas, wisdom is greatly needed. We need wisdom to live. We need wisdom to be solutions to other people’s challenges

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. (Proverbs 4:7). However, we must be mindful of it that we cannot succeed with wisdom alone without Godly instructions, knowledge and other virtues. An unteachable wisdom or that which do not seek understanding and knowledge will not function to its best. In fact, in no time, it would become folly. Moreover, understanding and knowledge can mislead wisdom if they are gotten from a perversed source. When seeking them, do so in line with the truth. What is the truth? The truth is the Word of God and the Word of God is Jesus. So, any of these that does not have a sound biblical foundation is the same as deceit from the master deceiver-the devil. (Proverbs 23:23) Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

Every instructions that comes from the Lord is wisdom (nugget). So, not to obey him when He instructs us will amount to folly.

Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Beloved, if any wise person removes the fear of God from His wisdoms, what remains are blunders and frustration, no matter how great the wisdom is. The end of such wisdom is regrets. When he thought he wins all, he only wins some and lose the vital ones. King Solomon was a good testimony for God’s wisdom until he took himself away from the fear of God and away from God’s instructions. That we are wise does not mean we are on our own wiser than God or the devil. If we are not submitting our wisdom to Jesus, to be led and instructed by the Holy Spirit, then the devil takes the leadings; just as he did in Genesis 3 and 1Chronicles 21(please read these passages). God forbids! Do not use wisdom to disobey God instead use it to obey Him. Just as power and authourity are dangerous without Holy Spirit’s leading, so also is wisdom, if not worse.

We must not just use this wisdom (selfishly) for our own good only. This was one of the things king Solomon fell into. When he asked for wisdom, he did so in the perspective of other people’s good (1 Kings 3:9-14). Wisdom used for selfish reason is a corrupted wisdom, and corrupted wisdom is the same with deceit (deceit is devil’s wisdom) . Please, beware!

God can give us wisdom greater than your enemies’ wisdom.

1Kings 4:30 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

May the Lord bestow this grace on us greatly in Jesus name.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom (Psalms 51:6). There is a need to be truthful to God even in our secret plans and places.

Do not lose God’s fear, Solomon did and his wisdom became frustration and regrets just as seen in book of Ecclesiastes. This amount to folly. Daniel, Joseph and every other that continued to live in the fear of the Lord grew from wisdom to wisdom. Their lives became the testimonies of God’s wisdom. May our lives be testimonies to God’s wisdom, in Jesus name.

(Proverbs 21:30) There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
