(Isaiah 48:17, Exodus 4:12 , Psalms 18:34, Psalms 144:1, Psalms 32:8, John 14:26)

Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD your God who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go (Isaiah 48:17)

Our Lord and our Creator says in this portion of Isaiah that He is the one that teaches us how to make profit. In the first instance, maybe some of us is hearing this for the first time. Yes, that is what the Lord says. Here, the Lord is not speaking about blessing the work of our hands but he is speaking about Himself, teaching us… how to make profit.

Please, let us think of what profiting is! In business, we know what profiting means to us. In some of our endeavours that are not related to finance, there is still a place for profiting. It is a good thing to be taught how to work and it is another thing to be taught on how to make profit. Our Lord, that we think is only concerned about the altar ministry and who we restrict to only the pulpit agenda is telling us that He is so concerned about us that He teaches us how to make gains. How marvelous is our God?! How loving and caring He is to us! Please, beloved let us open up more, for Him to come into our live more than before. Let us give Him more space, time and chance into where we have restricted Him from. Do not let us cage Him to only the pulpit, altar or church ministry of our life. Call on Him to come, welcoming Him to those “classified” areas of our lives where we have restricted Him from.

Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth, and teach you what you shall say. (Exodus 4:12)

In Exodus 4:12 the Holy Spirit is opening our eyes to the place of God’s mercy teaching us another virtue, which is EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION. “I will be with your mouth” is opening our understanding to the fact that the Lord is ready to prevent us from speaking when not needful and making us to speak when needful. Not only making us to speak when needful but also TEACHING us what to say and at the appropriate(right) time. Many a time, we regret some words (utterance) that once came out of our mouths… Having come to this light of God’s word today, I pray Father will relieve us of those past burdens and will be with our mouth henceforth in Jesus precious name. Amen.

He teaches my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by my arms (Psalms 18:34)

Blessed be the LORD my strength which teaches my hands to war, and my fingers to fight (Psalms 144:1)

Beloved, there is a special revelation here which is that our God is mighty (No doubt about it) but not only that …HE ALSO TEACHES us to become mighty. What an awesome Lord we serve!

How marvelous is it when God teaches our hands to fight war?! Then you see yourself overcoming with great prowess you know can only be divine. Our little strength winning great and mighty battle.

Indeed the person that can tell us this with all authority is David. Someone who killed Goliat- the giant with a sling…his stone hitting the only open place on an experienced “warlord”. David said he ran after a lion and killed it. A lion is believed to be brave, strong, swift and fierce. So, David must have possess one of these traits greater than that possessed by the animals before he could catch up to them and kill them. But beloved, He is not teaching us to fight flesh and blood …. but to fight the enemies of our Lord- the enemies of light i.e. the kingdom of darkness and evil. While we yet speak this He has the following for our help.

Show me your ways, O LORD; teach me your paths (Psalms 25:4)

Teach me your way, O LORD; I will walk in your truth: unite my heart to fear your name.(Psalms 86:11)

I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will guide you with my eye (Psalms 32:8)

As shown immediately above, we might be coming from the fear and confusion of mind of not using all of these knowledge for a selfish or evil thing. Being aware of that fear that questions our sincerity and loyalty, then He says “Is that your fear? You do not need that. Just put yourself in my hand and leave yourself to me. I will show and teach you the right ways and paths that you will not miss for the wrong ones. After teaching you, I will not leave you alone to yourself but when you need supervision to apply the teaching I will be there to INSTRUCT you”. Here, He teaches us and again instructs us on when to apply the teaching and how to apply them correctly.

What a wonderful God we serve!

He is not through yet! He will also ensure we remain on that right part till the end.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom (Psalms 90:12)

After all these, He is again there for us, guiding us on self-examination and self-evaluation time to time. He will be there taking us through timely accountability (by fact and figure). So that we will be able to always re-apply our hearts to wisdom of winning and finishing strong(well).

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatever I have said to you (John 14:26)

Great are You oh Lord!

Please, let us cry to Him just as the psalmist did,

“Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I shall keep it to the end.” Psalms 119:33
